Jason stumbled upon this on the internet, he emailed it to me and I remembered reading this at the Holocaust museum feeling the same way he did.

First they came for the Jews

and I did not speak out

because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists

and I did not speak out

because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists

and I did not speak out

because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me

and there was no one left

to speak out for me.

I think I'll just leave it at that and let it seep in the way that it is meant to in your individual life. The ripple effects of words spoken because of thoughts and actions that are sparked from those words never ceases to amaze me. Oh some day the injustices will stop....some day. Until then I will continue this fight so that there will be voices left to speak out for me!
