Live like that.....

Wow I'm really neglecting the blogging aren't I? Sorry about that yet again. I'm just having too much fun this summer I guess :)

My sister is coming over tonight with the pictures from our trip so stay tuned for those.

Last weekend myself and two other friends did a quick trip to Cape Breton in order to support some friends during a difficult time of grief over the death of their grandmother. Although the drive was long, it was beautiful and we of course had some quality and not so quality (hee hee hee) conversations. I was in River Bourgeois and it was beautiful. I hope to go back there some day.

While there I got to hear a lot of stories and learn a lot about a woman that I had never met before. Rita Landry (aka grandmere) was certainly loved in that small community. I was blown away with the hospitality of everyone and the way that the whole community jumped into to support and love the family during the difficult time of Rita's passing. After spending my brief 24 hours there, taking part in Rita's funeral and sitting with the family while they shared stories and such. I feel more whole as a person now. This women has been a blessing even to me. She's encouraged me through the legacy that she's left on her family. It's hard to explain I guess. However her love for God and her family were very obvious to me. I can only hope and pray that I will have that affect on those around me when He calls me home.

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

In loving memory of Rita Landry November 14, 1920-July 3, 2007.
